I began my professional life as a teacher, coach, educational trainer and consultant in Florida and Georgia. After completing my doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Georgia (1994-1999), and clinical training at Duke University Medical Center (1997-1998), I opened a private practice here in Cary. All told, I have over 30 years of experience bringing out the best in clients of all ages.

In addition to my private practice, I serve as a psychologist with the FMRT Group providing pre- and post-employment evaluations for law enforcement and other public safety personnel, and the Veterans Administration providing psychiatric disability evaluations for military veterans.

Outside the office, I maintain close ties with local mental health, medical, educational and business professionals. I am an active member of the North Carolina Psychological Association, Division of Independent Professional Practice, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the American Psychological Association.

In private life, I am a happily devoted and shamelessly proud husband and father of two. My wife and partner in all things for the past 32 years is a high school principal and an exceptional woman in all respects. We have two amazing young adult daughters, both independent career women. As a family, we work together to cultivate our version of the Good Life. When not otherwise occupied, you will usually find me with a book in my hand, working out, watching sports, or enjoying the great outdoors.
